Henrikh Mkhitaryan pleased Mourinho
Football News – Jose Mourinho was extremely pleased with playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s performance in Manchester United’s 4-1 win over West Ham United in the League Cup Quarter-final.
The Armenian was credited with two assists, and was generally at the heart of all things good from his side in an attacking sense as the visitors struggled to stem the flow of United dominance.
Speaking to press after the match, Mourinho said of Mkhitaryan’s performance: “I’m so happy today, because today was against a Premier League team, with Premier League qualities, with Premier League characteristics.
“Against Feyenoord, we could think ‘OK, it’s a different profile of football’ but today was against a proper and a typical Premier League team and Mkhi could perform this way.
“So we are really happy because we know the reason why we bought him and we were waiting for his adaptation and it looks like it’s coming.”
The £26million signing from Borussia Dortmund has enjoyed an indifferent beginning to his Manchester United career, but has enjoyed three appearances in six days, as well as plaudits from his manager and fans alike.
