With Jurgen Klopp facing something of an attacking crisis in January, the Liverpool boss is looking to Russia for a replacement and has found one.
Sadio Mane is due to head to the African Cup of Nations next month and with Danny Ings, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho also unavailable, Klopp needs attacking talent or risks falling behind further in the Premier League title race.
The Sun reckon Quincy Promes is Klopp’s man for the job, with the Liverpool boss set to move for the winger after Spartak signed a potential replacement for the 5 foot 9 ace on their right side.
Promes has been an incredible talent for Spartak Moscow since moving from FC Twente in 2014. He’s scored 37 goals in 78 appearances for the Russian side, deployed on the right side of their attack.
That nose for goal from wide areas would fit very well into Klopp’s free-flowing Liverpool side that have scored more Premier League goals than any other team this season.
Also a regular in the Netherlands national team, Promes has earned his chance to play in one of Europe’s top leagues.
He’s in form this season too, scoring 6 goals in 14 appearances, and well placed to come to Liverpool in January and hit the ground running to ease Klopp’s attacking woes.
