UFC News – If you’re a fan out there waiting for Al Iaquinta’s next UFC bout, you may want to reconsider your options. “Raging” Al recently made it known that he wasn’t too happy with his current UFC contract situation, coming off a long injury layoff. He had been scheduled to fight Thiago Alves at the upcoming UFC 205 PPV card in New York City. However, he withdrew from the bout back in September, despite being apparently healthy and able to compete, citing an ongoing contract dispute with he UFC.

It seems that dispute has resulted in Iaquinta walking away from MMA competition entirely.

“I thought my career was over. I got my personal training, I got my real estate license and I’m living comfortably. I don’t need to fight now,” Iaquinta explained when the announcement was made that he wouldn’t be fighting in November.

In a recent exchange on Twitter, Iaquinta confirmed that because of those circumstances, he was now retired:

Of course, this may not be a permanent situation. If the UFC and Iaquinta can come to some future agreement, perhaps fans will see him back in the Octagon at some point down the road. But for the moment, it appears that Raging Al’s MMA days are over.
