Rashad Evans’ fight against Tim Kennedy fight rebooked

UFC News – The middleweight bout between Rashad Evans and Tim Kennedy was nixed for UFC 205 by the New York State Athletic Commission, but that hasn’t stopped the UFC from rebooking the bout.

The commission refused to license Evans due to a concern over an MRI that he had done on Oct. 19. Despite follow-up tests that Evans said he passed, the commission was unwilling to allow him to move forward for Saturday’s card at Madison Square Garden.

UFC officials, however, don’t appear to share the same concerns as the commission and rescheduled the bout for UFC 206, which is slated for Dec. 10 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Evans certainly didn’t sound worried about his health, although he wasn’t happy about the fight being canceled for this weekend’s event.

“I’m disappointed,” Evans said in a statement to MMAFighting.com on Tuesday. “I’m healthy. I don’t want anyone worrying about me. I’m fine, physically speaking. Never felt better. It’s just the commission and their rules. I guess they have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this.”

The bout is a significant addition to UFC 206, which already features light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormierputting his belt on the line against Anthony Johnson in the main event, as well as a premier featherweight bout pitting Max Holloway against Anthony Pettis.
